Create your first product

In Fiscalapi, a CFDI product (CFDI: Mexico's electronic invoice) is any good or service that you or your customers offer to their own customers. This tutorial creates the product in the dashboard. To create it with the API, see Products.

Create a product

In the dashboard, go to Catalogos > Productos (Catalogs > Products) and click + above the products table.

Fill in the form with the product details and click Save to save your changes. Before you can include the product in a CFDI, it needs a description, a price, a unit of measure, a tax object (whether an item is subject to tax, ObjetoImp), and a tax classification. The tax classification is the SAT product or service key (SAT: Mexico's tax authority, Servicio de Administración Tributaria).

Add taxes to the product

Every new product comes with IVA (Mexico's value-added tax, VAT) at 16%, which you can remove. To add another tax, go to Catalogos > Productos (Catalogs > Products), select the product, and click + above the Impuestos del producto (Product taxes) table.

Fill in the form with the tax details and click Save to save your changes.
