Fiscalapi environments
Fiscalapi has two environments: test and production. Both offer the same features, so what you build in test works the same way in production, but they don't share data.
| Environment | Purpose | URL | Sign-in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Test | Development and testing at no cost. | https://test.fiscalapi.com | Sign in to test |
| Production | Live operations with real data. | https://live.fiscalapi.com | Sign in to production |
Moving from test to production
Your integration code stays the same. To move to production, set up your tenant (the space in Fiscalapi that holds your issuers, recipients, credits, and data) in the production environment and update your credentials.
Set up your tenant in production
Repeat the steps you followed in test, this time with real data and payments. Sign up and confirm your email. Buy a paid subscription with a valid credit or debit card. Buy stamps (one credit each, used each time you stamp a CFDI) in Tienda en línea (Store). Get your production API key and tenant. The difference is that in production, payments, stamps, and tax documents are real.
Update your code
Once your production tenant is ready, change only these three values in your application:
| Value | Test | Production |
|---|---|---|
| URL | https://test.fiscalapi.com | https://live.fiscalapi.com |
X-TENANT-KEY | Your test tenant. | Your production tenant. |
X-API-KEY | Your test API key. | Your production API key. |
Sample HTTP request per environment
Test environment
curl --location 'https://test.fiscalapi.com/api/v4/products' \
--header 'X-TIME-ZONE: America/Mexico_City' \
--header 'X-TENANT-KEY: <my-test-tenant-key>' \
--header 'X-API-KEY: <my-test-api-key>' \
--data '{
"description": "Producto de prueba",
"unitPrice": 1000
}'
Production environment
curl --location 'https://live.fiscalapi.com/api/v4/products' \
--header 'X-TIME-ZONE: America/Mexico_City' \
--header 'X-TENANT-KEY: <my-live-tenant-key>' \
--header 'X-API-KEY: <my-live-api-key>' \
--data '{
"description": "Producto de producción",
"unitPrice": 1000
}'
Store your credentials in environment variables or configuration files so they aren't exposed in your source code. This also lets you move your code to production without recompiling your application.
